Before you start

Sign in with your Figma account the first time the client connects.
Only clients listed in Figma's MCP catalog can connect to the remote server.

Add to .mcp.json. Start Claude Code, approve the figma server, then run /mcp, select figma, and choose Authenticate.

MCP server "figma":
- Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint: https://mcp.figma.com/mcp
- Signs in with OAuth. The client opens Figma's sign-in page on first connection; tell me when to approve access.
- Config file per client: Claude Code: .mcp.json; Cursor: .cursor/mcp.json; VS Code: .vscode/mcp.json; Codex: ~/.codex/config.toml.

Before you start:

Steps:
1. Ask which client I use if you can't tell.
2. For Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or Codex, add the "figma" server to that client's config file, using its documented format. Keep every server and setting already in the file.
3. For Claude or ChatGPT, don't edit any files. Send me the connector link so I can add it there.
4. Reload the client, finish any sign-in, and confirm the server's tools are listed.
